Nicolle Cannon, Founder and CEO of Cannon Quality Group enjoyed attending the Medtech Vision 2022 conference on September 9, 2022.

The conference featured keynote speaker Melissa Muganzo Murphy, CEO of Muganzo Entertainment. As a uterine fibroid survivor, Ms. Murphy was especially qualified to be the patient keynote speaker, sharing her experiences with the medical industry while receiving treatment. That experience has motivated her to actively work to educate the medical profession on uterine health and healing resources.

During the Industry Landscape overview, given by Alira Health, the Medtech Industry Report confirmed trends that Cannon Quality Group leaders have observed – evolving medtech diagnostic products, healthcare and life sciences organization look for support in implementing quality solutions across their products’ lifecycle, and transformation in product care over the last decade catalyzed by the exponential growth in the medtech industry.

Several panel discussions covered hot topics familiar to the medtech industry. Diagnostic Renaissance: Ramping Up Rapid Testing and Remote Patient Monitoring panel, reviewed the explosion of digital and wearable healthcare products now accessible to patients. The growth was spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic, but still requires oversight to ensure compliance with FDA requirements.

The Promise of Convergent Technologies continued to explore the trend of software integration with medical devices. This trend requires a paradigm shift in the medtech and software industry, which will allow broader patient access and treatment, while ensuring quality principles are implemented into their design.

Remote Clinical Trials: Transitioning from the Traditional to the Modern analyzed the opportunities and challenges presented by conducting remote clinical trials. Implementing a right-sized quality management system for remote trials will ensure value for sponsors and enable safe implementation for patients.

Lisa Earnhardt, executive vice president at Abbott was featured during the Executive Interview. She shared her thoughts and experiences from an extensive career leading global medical device product launches and driving adoption of new medical technologies.
